We are a group of pupils, Sean leng , Joel lim , Yeow Chuan And Zhenming and we are from Class 2C in Peicai Secondary School who will like to investigate more about singapore's low birth rate and possible consequences if singapore continues to have such low birth rate.We have interviewed 8 people ranging from 20-54 years old to find out more about the causes and impact of low birth rate in Singapore. We also asked the people about their views on how Singapore can improve birth rate. The rest of our blog will show how we have done our survey and the findings.

Out of the 8 people we interviewed four were married four were single. We went to schools and ask teachers about the survey questions, and we went out to look for people that are about 25 years. We asked them our survey questions and wrote down their responses.
We asked the following questions:1. How many children do you want to have?
2. Why don't you want to have children or why don't you want to have more children?
3. Why do you think people in singapore are not giving birth?
4. Why do you think the government is so concern about having a low birth rate?
5. What do you think can happen if singapore continues to have a low birth rate?
6. What can the government do to make you give birth?

Results & Analysis
Out of the eight people interviewed, four were already married, four were single but intending to get married, and three didn't want to get married. The one who didn't want to get married said that they wants to concentrate on their career and they does not want to be tied down by a family.
Out of the four who want to get married, only four wanted to have or have children. Those who didn't want children said that children were too expensive in Singapore, and he and his wife have agreed that they would rather spend time between themselves. The other 3 mostly wanted 1-3 children. They said that children are fun, interesting and makes a family complete. Some wanted children so that they can take care of them when the parents are old.
Two said didn't want to have more than three children because of the high cost of living in Singapore.Three stated that there is not enough space in the house for more than three children. Two also feel that Singapore life is too stressful and competitive to bring up a child so they decided not to have any children.
Many shared that Singapore is concerned about this issue because Singapore needs people to help the economy grow. They also feel that if Singapore have very low birth rate, there will be lack of manpower in case of defense
Some solutions shared by the 8 people include giving fathers more paternity leave so that fathers can be more involved. They would also want the government to subsidies childcare centre more since it is very expensive.
Out of the eight people we interviewed two of them said that the government should open more child care centre and give more incentives to the parent and if there is no child in singapore there will not be any singaporeans to defend the country and no foreigner would want to help take over and defend for singapore.
Some said that the women in singapore are marrying late and singaporean are too practical and they would earn money and spent it for themselves. One of them said that the government should give paternalty leaves and subsidy for the family and make child care centre cheaper so that parents can afford to pay for the child care centre fee.
Out of the eight we interviewed three of them said that the population would be lower and we need to employ foreign workers to replace the local workers because there will not be enough local workers to work.

Conclusion
In conclusion, we found that actually more people wanted to have children, but they do not want to have more than 1-3 children due to the high cost of living in Singapore. The government can help by giving fathers more leave and subsidise childcare centres.
This project helps us to learn more about Singapore and its low birthrate. We had an interesting experience as we learnt how to craft a survey and also how to write a blog. It was not easy as we had to interview people and we had met with some difficult people. Here are the individual reflections and contributions of our group members:
Sean
I enjoy the survey that we had done because this is my first time doing such surveys and interviewing other people.
My contributions are interviewing others and writing down their anwsers.
